How to increase your occupancy rate

The higher your occupancy rate the higher your income, it’s that simple!

Reviews and repeat bookings are a key factor in increasing your occupancy rate. 88% of consumers trust online reviews as much as personal recommendations so you can see the significance of getting good reviews.

So how do you go about obtaining those 5 star reviews?

Hosting skills…. You need to offer 6 star service all of the time. Being friendly and responsive from day one is vital. Being a fantastic host is time consuming but it’s what we do best, take a look at our website to see how we can ease the load of being a helpful host.

A little goes a long way, here are a few ideas of ‘little things’ that won’t break the bank but will go a long way in increasing your occupancy rate.

  • An iron and ironing board – remember your guests may be on a work-related trip, or attending an event.
  • A selection of family games, playing cards and DVD’s – for when your guests need a little break from sightseeing they may want to just sit back and relax and have something at hand to keep them entertained. Good things to include are playing cards, light hearted and family DVD’s and family games.
  • Pets – if your holiday rental is pet friendly, dog bowls and biscuits are a nice touch.
  • Beach bits – if your holiday home is near the beach leaving a bucket and spade for children to play with.
  • Extra Blankets – if you holiday home provides outside seating, a couple of blankets by the back door that your guests can use outside in the evening is again not costly but an extra brownie point.
  • Children – if your rental is ‘family friendly’ some children’s cutlery, DVD’s and games to keep them entertained will make the whole family very happy.

The more 5 star reviews you get the more the Airbnb algorithm will like you!
